room_01At the Cape Animal Medical Centre’s All Hours Clinic (After Hours Clinic and Day Clinic), we’re open and staffed by veterinarians and veterinary nursing assistants 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. This means that not only do we provide an invaluable emergency service at any hour, but that the Clinic also provides general and routine clinical and surgical services 24 hours a day.

Routine treatments and preventive medicine like vaccinations, deworming and microchipping are also given our full attention and are performed with the same passion and attention as the emergency care of a car accident victim or simply preventive sterilization. CAMC’s veterinarians and veterinary nurses lovingly look after patients in the hospital and provide critical care to patients in the High Care unit to ensure best-of-care at all hours. Our patients remain under care 24 hours a day in temperature controlled kennels.

24 Hour Emergency Veterinary Care

Our After Hours Clinic veterinary and nursing team is skilled and experienced in all emergency situations enabling them to provide the best care and emergency treatment for your pet. We successfully treat many conditions including poisonings, snake bites, motor vehicle accidents, bite wounds, GDV’s (when the stomach fills with air and twists) along with many other illnesses and diseases that require immediate care.

Our facilities at the CAMC include a range of diagnostic, monitoring and laboratory equipment to ensure best of care at any hour, day or night.  All kennels have underfloor heating and the wards are air-conditioned for temperature control.  All patients sleep on blankets or mattresses, never newspaper.  The surgical theatres are well equipped with monitoring equipment, hydraulic surgical tables, excellent surgical lighting and isoflurane inhalant anaesthesia systems.  We also have a mechanical ventilator to use for example on paralysed snakebite victims.  We stock a large variety of therapeutic drugs and medication, including snakebite antivenom.  We use intravenous fluid pumps to ensure the correct quantity of intravenous fluid is administered.  Along with our modern facilities and equipment, the CAMC has veterinarians and nursing staff as well as support staff on site throughout the night and day to provide 24-hour monitoring and care of our patients.

The After Hours Clinic veterinary service ensures that efficient and compassionate veterinary help is always available so that should your pet need emergency care, you can rest assured that they will be well looked after and cared for. Whatever your pet needs, at any time of the day or night, our caring and compassionate team is here to care for your beloved family member.
