I was born in Bredasdorp on the 1st of January 1975. I am the youngest of three children, and the only daughter. After I matriculated, I went to the South African Army Women's College in George for a year of voluntary military training.
In 1996, I started my veterinary nursing training at Onderstepoort. After qualifying in 1997, I started working in Bredasdorp for Dr. Wilson in his one-man practise. After he immigrated to Canada in 1999, I moved to Cape Town where I worked at the Cape Animal Medical Centre - After Hours Clinic. My interest in complimentary and alternative medicine made me join Dr. Barry Hindmarch at the Acuvet Clinic in 2001.
Acupuncture, Chinese herbs, homeopathy, laser, hydrotherapy and physiotherapy form a big part of our treatment. I have done numerous courses on massage, including Reiki, Bowen and Tellington Touch. I am currently busy with a consultancy course in animal behaviour.
I have six children of my own, four cats and two dogs. Found
as strays, they all crept into my heart and home to brighten up my life more
than I ever thought possible. My love for animals is so passionate that it makes
my daily work a pleasurable experience and something to look forward to ever
day!
